GOLLY/GOSH BOXES

Created as mini–portfolios for use at home and abroad, Iain Hector and I wrapped foam board tiles—featuring samples of our work—in screen printed banners. A thick, card slip case was made to keep each package together.

For the banners, we wanted something quintessentially British, fun and without much actual meaning. The shape of the banners led us to find a pairing of words which could work individually, or together as a phrase—'Golly Gosh'! After tossing a coin, I took on 'Golly', Iain designed a 'Gosh'.

THE POUND SHOP: OYSTER SHELLS

Invited by Household to take part in London Design Week's 'The Poundshop', I produced 200 hand–printed, hand–cut and hand–folded 'Oyster Shells' for London's commuters, reflecting an actual shell in pattern and hinge.

Get in touch if you'd like one.

CITY MUSHROOM EXPERIMENT

Fun experiment which involved placing highly visible, play–doh mushrooms across London's business district.

Despite their grey, concrete surroundings, the luminous mushrooms were apparently invisible to the thousands on their way to the office. I spent the whole of rush hour watching for worker's reactions and, despite some of the models being placed at eye–level no more than a couple of feet from the people–traffic, not one person even glanced at them as they homed in on their desk space!
